Change a life in Haiti
For the past 7 years, we have provided tuition assistance to kids in primary schools in different parts of Haiti (Leogane, Croix-des-Bouquets, St. Marc, Fontamara, Marchand Desalines, Gros Morne). Our efforts impacted 1000+ children to receive deeply discounted tuitions from these schools. This past fall, we have started 2 new initiatives.
We had the opportunity to Build a School and we are asking for you to partner with us on this Project. The focus is to create curriculum standards and technology to enhance learning, hire top qualified teachers and staff, and build a safer and more structured building for young kids in underserved communities. In addition to impacting young kids in grades k-8, AAME will also create opportunities for families and young adults living in that community through our second initiative, AAME Computer Center Innovation Project. Our Computer Center will provide internet access, teach computer skills and create jobs for people in the Community.
With your partnership, we can address making education a right for the underprivileged kids in Haiti to lessen the financial burden for families. Our Organization is seeking sponsors to support these Projects and allow more kids an opportunity for a brighter future by investing in their education.

Here’s how you can help!
Sponsor the meal program for $1,500 a month: For $1500 a month, you can provide up to 100 students a hot plate which might be the only meal for some of them for the day.
Sponsor a classroom for $1,000 a year: With a capacity to hold 30-35 students per classroom you can provide tuition for these children for $1000 for the whole year by covering a teacher’s salary.
Sponsor a student for $500 a year: Provide 2 sets of uniform (Pants/skirts & shirts/blouses) and a pair of shoes; school supplies (Books, notebooks, pens, pencils, backpack, etc)
Haiti
In the past year we have been startled several times by worrying news reports from the island of Haiti, the beautiful warm island where people speak French and Kreyol.
Haiti, officially the Republic of Haiti (French: République d’Haïti, Kreyòl: Repiblik Ayiti), is a republic on the western part of the island of Hispaniola in the Caribbean Sea. The country also includes several smaller islands, the largest of which are Île de la Gonâve, Île de la Tortue and Île à Vache. Haiti is located east of Cuba and borders the Dominican Republic for 275 kilometers to the east. The country has an area of 27,750 km² and a population of more than 11 million (2021). The capital is Port-au-Prince.
Haiti is simultaneously facing a political crisis and a humanitarian one. This is not just shocking news to us, but these are moments where we are confronted with what is happening on “the other side” of the world. An island where millions of people daily suffer from the aftermath of natural disasters, i.e., earthquakes, hurricanes, cyclones, political inequalities, and other social problems. As a non-profit organization, it is our mission to help in a sustainable way and to develop strategies to reach everyone who needs our help.
Earthquakes
The Haiti Earthquake struck the capital of Port-au-Prince on January 12th, 2010. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.0 with its epicenter being only about 15 miles southwest of the capital and the focus only about 8 miles from the surface making its effect even greater. This earthquake caused an astonishing amount of damage, loss of life, and displacement resulting in the most fatalities from an earthquake of comparable size. According to the national authorities this massive 7.0 earthquake killed over 300,000 people, injured 250,000, and left about 1.3 million people displaced and homeless.
On August 14, 2021, a devastating 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck southwestern Haiti. Serious damage, injuries and casualties have been reported in the Grand’Anse, Sud and Nippes departments, affecting an estimated 1.2 million people, including 540,000 children. At least 1,900 have died and more than 9,900 were injured. Hundreds are still missing. More than 115,000 houses have been damaged or destroyed, along with public infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and bridges.
Education
“All children have the right to go to school and learn, regardless of who they are, where they live or how much money their family has. Quality learning requires a safe, friendly environment, qualified and motivated teachers, and instruction in languages students can understand. It also requires that learning outcomes be monitored and feed back into instruction.” This is the statement of the UNICEF at their website about UNICEF’s work in education.
In Haiti the lack of employment and assistance create a financial hardship for most families. About 95% of the schools are private, making It simply impossible for families to send their children to school. Currently. Less than half the children in Haiti go to school due to a lack of financial resources. Parents must pay tuition to attend schools and buy uniforms, shoes, and books, which often makes the opportunity unaffordable for many families.
Every year we develop projects in which the child is central. Children are the future of tomorrow! A well-known saying that speaks for itself.
