Our projects

Since the beginning of A.A.M.E., we have tried to execute projects in which we can provide the children with education, school supplies, and a stimulating learning environment in a sustainable way. We are proud to present to you the various projects that we have been able to carry out in Haiti and the USA in recent years.

Hillsborough Community Helps Collect Computers for Schools in Haiti- During an interview with Rod Hirsch from TAPintoHillsborough, the President of AAME shared insights about our newest project for Haiti. “There are very few computers in Haiti,” Diogene said. “We purchased a couple of laptops and sent them to our director in Haiti, that’s how the idea of equipping the schools started. If we can put something in place, get the centers set up with the Internet, students can do research, paperwork, and the professors too, it would just be great for the community.”

Sponsor a child – Although education is “free” in Haiti, only half of all children are enrolled in primary school. This is because 92% of schools are private, leaving most families unable to pay school fees. In addition, the prohibitive cost of uniforms, books, and other school materials makes them unaffordable to many. In 2016 we started with our “Sponsor a child” project where we paid the school fee for more than 1500 kids. Thanks to the donations we were able to pay the fees for these kids.

Natural disaster relief -How do families deal with unexpected situations such as a hurricane? Every time we go to Haiti we look with admiration at the different families who, despite the difficult and challenging situations, try to keep their heads above water. Thanks to the sponsors, A.A.M.E. can lend a hand and provide these families with the necessities for the children. After Hurricane Matthew, we were able to provide the children with shoes and school supplies at various schools. As a potential sponsor, it is important to know that the needs of the families are very great.

Change a life – Since 2017, we have been given the opportunity to increase the number of children every year. We have been able to make a selection of needy children at several schools and help them pay their school fees as well as give school packages. We look forward to continuing successful projects where we can help even more families.

Natural disaster relief- In August 2021 we have been confronted with the second earthquake in Haiti. Unfortunately, this time also several families became the victims of a natural disaster. We have been able to provide various families with gift cards and other products. This year we were once again able to contribute to the education of the children at various schools. It is now more important than ever to continue to support the families during these difficult times.
